The years leading up to the NOSTA Group's 45th anniversary in 2023 were characterized by challenges: Brexit had an impact on customs clearance and required us to find new ways of dispatching. The coronavirus pandemic that followed shortly afterwards caused supply chains to stagnate while at the same time providing a significant boost to digitalization. Nevertheless, it was a time of dynamic development for us, leading us further down international paths.
With the successful expansion of the warehouse in Ladbergen by 15,000 square metres and the opening of new branches in Germany, Poland and the US, we continued our internationalization course in 2019. At the same time, we continued to invest in the quality of our staff and positioned ourselves as a forward-looking provider of apprenticeships.
At the end of January 2020, the United Kingdom left the European Union. This meant changes for international logistics in Europe, which had an impact on us too. We responded to the changed situation by maintaining an open communication policy and continued to support customers and partners as a reliable logistics service provider in turbulent times.
Just like in many industries, the global pandemic posed a challenge for us as well. However, forward-looking digitalization of business processes in years prior to the global state of emergency enabled our teams to continue their work without any problems. To this day, mobile working is a common feature in many areas at NOSTA.
In 2020, NOSTA opened a 27,000 square meter warehouse with a rail connection in Melle, Lower Saxony. There were also changes at the top of the company. The strategic steering lies in the hands of our Management Board: Its members include the three managing directors of NOSTA Holding GmbH Nicolas Gallenkamp (CEO, center), Marcus Thoben (COO, left) and Florian Körner (CFO, 2nd from left). Additional members of the Board are Andreas Wolke-Hanenkamp (COO Road, Rail & Contract Logistics, 4th from left), Ivo Aris (COO Global Sea & Air, 5th from left) and Frederik Mons (CDIO, right).
In the year of the NOSTA Group's 45th anniversary, we were represented for the first time as a main exhibitor at the leading international trade fair "transport logistic" in Munich and were able to continue our internationalization strategy.
Thanks to ongoing digitalization, the corporate culture has been geared towards the challenges of the future. Digital collaboration across national borders has been normalized since then. Internal restructuring has significantly strengthened our Contract Logistics, eCommerce and Solutions divisions and positioned the NOSTA Group for further internationalization.
In a historic first, the 45th anniversary of the NOSTA Group was celebrated with more than 500 employees from all international NOSTA locations under the motto "The beat is back". Due to the contact restrictions previously in place, it was the first company party after 5 years and a great opportunity to say "Thank you!" for the joint perseverance in challenging times.
