We visited the site.
For Cordula Brockmeyer, COO Contract Logistics, the site is an important element in the NOSTA Group's service portfolio: "In Melle, we are ideally prepared for many logistical challenges." This is not only due to the experienced and competent team on site, but also to the flexible usage options in the building.
Flexible use, easy access
The logistical flexibility can be seen in the current use of the multi-user warehouse: Currently, among other things, large rolls of paper from a renowned German manufacturer are stored, checked for quality and prepared by the team on site for further shipping. For other customers, products from the furniture & lifestyle sector are picked, packed and shipped directly to end customers via freight forwarders & parcel service providers. The high-rack facility also has a good 10,000 rack spaces available, which are used for a wide variety of goods.
And site manager Alexander Voss is certain: "In combination with the short distance of 3.5 kilometers to highway A30 and 17 loading gates, a lot can be realized here. There is also space within the premises for further value-added services. "Colleagues can carry out classic labeling or packaging on site. But quality inspections according to customer specifications are also no problem for us," Voss is pleased to say.
What else makes Melle special?
The rail siding for up to 10 wagons would definitely be worth mentioning here. "Potential customers are offered an environmentally friendly and effective way to transport their goods in large quantities directly from the warehouse," explains Cordula Brockmeyer. In total, the ramp is accessible via six forklift-capable gates.
In addition, the Melle site is approved as a bonded warehouse. This special type of warehouse is particularly important for international goods traffic. Above all, goods going to or coming from North America are absolutely dependent on this form of storage.
