NOSTA Group welcomes 33 new apprentices

Significant increase compared to 2022

  • Training year begins at full-service logistics provider based in Osnabrück
  • Higher interest in apprenticeships in warehouse logistics and among professional drivers
  • Personal motivation of young talents remains decisive factor

Osnabrück/Ostbevern, August 1, 2023 – At the start of the 2023 training year, the NOSTA Group can report an increase of ten trainees compared to the previous year. The full-service logistics provider from Osnabrück welcomes a total of 33 future logistics specialists from all over Germany to its ranks. The possible careers for the talented youngsters range from industrial to commercial and technical professions. The company also offers a dual study program. The start at NOSTA kicks off with a joint team-building activity at Hotel Beverland in Ostbevern.

"The fact that even more young people decided for an apprenticeship with us than in the previous year is a testament to the high quality and our future-oriented approach to apprenticeships at our company," says Alischa Reitz, trainer at NOSTA Holding GmbH. Reitz is alluding to the company's "Future Apprentice" program, which is designed to prepare new team members even better for the working world of the future. "We go even further than some of the training regulations in terms of content and help our junior staff to develop and refine their skills in areas such as project management or communication," explains Reitz. "These and other skills will be expected of workers almost as a given in the future."

The variety of apprenticeships at NOSTA Group, she says, ranges from “classics”, such as training to become a professional driver, through to training in media design for digital and print media, which you might not immediately expect from a logistics provider. The company also offers other training programs at a total of 12 locations: Currently, prospective forwarding and logistics services clerks, warehouse logistics specialists, warehouse assistants, IT specialists for system integration and dual business administration students are starting their apprenticeship. "What was remarkable this year was that we were able to allocate places in warehouse logistics or for professional drivers particularly quickly. Interest in these careers has increased compared to previous years," Reitz notes.

In general, interest is a decisive factor for Reitz and her colleagues in the HR department. "We don't even look at school diplomas that much. If a young person can convince us with their motivation in an interview, that's of great value to us." The company also caters to the needs of trainees. NOSTA makes part-time training possible, as well as inclusive models, internships as part of retraining programs, or one-year internships as practical training for secondary schools. This flexibility is rewarded: “This year, we were again able to retain many apprentices to continue working with us after they had completed their apprenticeships. Meeting our own demand for skilled workers remains our goal for the future."

To kick things off, the young talents met at the Hotel Beverland in Ostbevern for an initial get-together and joint team building. A communication seminar is also scheduled during the first days at NOSTA. Other network meetings of this kind are part of the apprenticeships: A logistics simulation game awaits the prospective specialists, as does free driver safety training. But first, the new colleagues will head to their assigned branches in Aschersleben, Bielefeld, Dortmund, Duisburg, Hamburg, Kelsterbach, Ladbergen, Osnabrück, Schwerte, Stadthagen, Stuttgart and Viernheim.
