Everything was set: The packages with items for babies and toddlers were ready for shipment in our warehouse in Ladbergen. For months, we had planned the launch of the new label "ELSA & EMIL" into the eCommerce business together with the Münster-based "remmidemmi GmbH", a subsidiary of the well-known brand BabyOne. "The project and tender phase had been successful. The implementation of the processes also went smoothly," recalls Benjamin Jansson, COO of NOSTA eCommerce GmbH.
But then: "36 hours before the official product launch, we got a call. Due to external circumstances, the supply chain was suddenly interrupted, just before the first items were supposed to arrive in some of the more than 100 stores of the renowned retail chain." Now what?
Timely delivery at risk?
The NOSTA eCommerce team didn't think twice: "We can do it!" Together with NOSTA's "Road" and "Contract Logistics" business units, we set up a timely delivery "overnight." Team Warehouse put in an extra night shift, overnight transports were organized. Some colleagues from the NOSTA team even sprinted to their cars to make the final deliveries.
"The delivery to recipients all over the country combined with the fast approaching product launch demanded flexible action and teamwork from us. Together we managed to avert an early setback for our customer," Benjamin Jansson is pleased to report. Today, the shipment of goods for "remmidemmi GmbH" is proceeding smoothly.
